Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana
Opened in 2019 on Juanillo Beach, Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is the family half of the complex: roomy suites, the Canapolis water park, and free clubs for kids and teens. The beach is calm, shallow and warm, which suits young children. Club Level adds a private pool and restaurant for an extra charge, though one reviewer found it nonessential. About 15–20 minutes from Punta Cana airport.
Strengths
- Juanillo Beach: calm, shallow water and soft sand.
- A real water park with a lazy river and slides.
- Free kids club and teen lounge.
- Close to the airport, in a quiet, gated area.
Watch out for
- Price: roughly twice the big Bávaro resorts in cash.
- Fewer restaurants than the largest resorts, and popular ones get busy.
- Extra children beyond the free limit cost extra.
- Little to walk to outside the resort, beyond the Cap Cana marina by taxi.

Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana
The adults-only half: 375 suites next door to Ziva, with its own pools, restaurants and a martini bar. Children aren't allowed in, but Zilara guests can walk over and use Ziva's restaurants and the water park, which gives couples more choice than most adults-only resorts. Expect to get up early for a pool or beach lounger in busy weeks.

Is Cap Cana worth the extra cost?
In cash, only if Cap Cana's advantages matter to you. In our check for the same January 2027 dates, Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana was about $1,080 a night for two, taxes included, against about $490 at Royalton Bavaro. What the extra buys:
- A better beach for swimming. Juanillo Beach is calm and shallow.
- A quieter, gated area with a marina and golf, away from the busy Bávaro strip.
- Possibly less seaweed. Cap Cana is often said to get less sargassum than Bávaro's east-facing beaches, but it varies by year, so check recent guest photos.
If none of those matter and you're paying cash, a Bávaro all-inclusive gets you more for the money; see where to stay in Punta Cana and which Royalton in Punta Cana to book.
Points or cash?
This is where Cap Cana shines. Both resorts are Category F on Hyatt's all-inclusive award chart: in 2026, a standard room for two costs 45,000 to 85,000 points a night, depending on the date, and award nights include food and drinks. Against the $1,080-a-night cash price at Ziva in our check, that's roughly 1.3 to 2.4 cents a point, well above what Hyatt points usually get at all-inclusives. Award space for standard rooms can be limited in peak weeks, so search early. World of Hyatt Globalists don't pay resort fees on eligible stays.
