Two beaches at the tip of Cancun.

Great for families and the Hotel Zone. Not for big rooms or quiet sand.

The short answer: Hyatt Ziva Cancun is worth it for families and couples who want an all-inclusive inside Cancun's Hotel Zone, with two beaches, a kids club and nightlife within walking distance. Couples who want quiet can book the adults-only Turquoize section. Skip it if you want a large room or a long, empty beach. In our check for three nights in January 2027, it started at about $550 a night for two; on points it's 45,000–85,000 a night.

Hyatt Ziva Cancun is one of the best-placed all-inclusives in Cancun if you want to leave the resort: Coco Bongo, the Hotel Zone's main nightlife strip and the convention center are under a 10-minute walk. It sits on a point, so it has two beaches: a calm cove on the bay side facing Isla Mujeres, and a beach on the open Caribbean.

Strengths

  • Location. The Hotel Zone's restaurants and nightlife are walkable, which few all-inclusives offer.
  • Two beaches and three infinity pools, one adults-only.
  • A kids club for ages 4–12 and a teen space, and an adults-only Turquoize section for couples.
  • Service is consistently praised in reviews.

Watch out for

  • Room size. Standard rooms are on the small side for the price.
  • The beaches are smaller than the resort's marketing photos suggest.
  • Food reviews are mixed, and specialty restaurant reservations fill quickly.
  • Children under 13 can't stay in swim-up rooms.

Is Hyatt Ziva Cancun worth it?

For most families, yes. You get an all-inclusive with a real kids club, two beaches and the rest of Cancun on your doorstep, about half an hour from the airport. The trade-off is space: rooms are small and the beaches are compact, so it's a better fit for an active trip than for a week of lying on empty sand.

If quiet beaches matter more than nightlife, look north to Costa Mujeres or south to Puerto Morelos, where resorts are more spread out.

Ziva, Turquoize or Hyatt Zilara Cancun?

Is it good for kids?

Yes. The KidZ Club takes ages 4–12, with a playroom and an outdoor water play area with slides, and teens have their own space. There's less for toddlers under 4, and children under 13 can't stay in swim-up rooms or suites. It isn't a water park resort; for that, see Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun.

How far is it from Cancun airport?

About 25–30 minutes by car, which makes it the farthest of the big Hotel Zone resorts from the airport, but still close. Transfers booked through the resort have been reported to cost much more than a private transfer, so compare before you book.

What about the dolphins?

The resort sits next to a Dolphin Discovery habitat, and swims with the dolphins cost extra. Some travelers prefer to avoid captive-dolphin attractions, so it's worth knowing before you go.

Points or cash at Hyatt Ziva Cancun

Hyatt Ziva Cancun is Category F, the top category on Hyatt's all-inclusive award chart. In 2026 a standard room for two costs 45,000 to 85,000 points a night, depending on the date, and a third or fourth guest adds 22,500 to 42,500 points each. Award nights include food and drinks, like a paid stay.

At about $550 a night, that works out to roughly 0.6 to 1.2 cents per point. That's a good use of points on lower-priced award dates and a weak one on the most expensive dates. World of Hyatt Globalists don't pay resort fees on eligible stays, paid or award. Run your own numbers in the points-or-cash calculator, and see how Hyatt compares with Marriott and Hilton in our hotel rewards guide.

Award categories are reviewed each spring. Check Hyatt's current chart before you book.

What it costs, and when to go

In our October 25 check on Booking.com, three nights on January 18–21, 2027 for two adults started at about $1,650, or roughly $550 a night, before any taxes or fees added at checkout. The most expensive weeks are Christmas to early January and Easter; summer and early fall are cheapest.
